Spawning Ground For Hatred is a ruthless dip into the sewers. A mix of grinding hardcore and crust influences makes for a bloody mess in under 23 minutes. A guttural display of 13 songs, filled with varying vocal styles of low growls, mid-ranged screams and the drumming and bass providing both blast beats and thick, throbbing rhythms.
Words That Burn have managed to strike a fine balance in their tempos, expertly navigating between frenetic grindcore and controlled chaos. The result is a sound that is consistently engaging, but never feels overwhelming or monotonous. There’s a certain comfort in the familiarity of their style, with quick note-bending leads reminiscent of Masskontroll, yet they still manage to carve out their own distinct niche.
