This limited edition colored vinyl LP features the classic lineup of The Smiths performing live in Amsterdam in 1984. Recorded at the De Meervaart Theater on April 21, 1984, Dutch Courage captures the band during their early breakthrough period. The recording comes from a Dutch radio FM broadcast, preserving the sound of the group’s live performance at the time. The show was notable as the band’s first performance in a country where English was not the primary language.
The record features a selection of their best-known early songs, including 'Hand in Glove', 'This Charming Man', 'Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now', and 'What Difference Does It Make?'. At the time of the concert, 'Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now' and 'Girl Afraid' had only recently been recorded, making these performances among the earliest live versions closely resembling the later studio releases
