The Doors were a groundbreaking American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1965 by vocalist Jim Morrison, keyboardist
Ray Manzarek, guitarist Robby Krieger and drummer John Densmore. He band, known for it's unique blues-infused sound and Morrison's poetic, often controversial lyrics and unpredictable stage presence, became a major force in 1960s counterculture and psychedelic rock. Their influential career ended with Morrison's death in 1971, after which the remaining members disbanded in 1973.
